The International Journal of Educational Realities (I-JER) is a peer-reviewed scholarly online journal that publishes articles on an annual basis through a continuous peer review process.
I-JER welcomes empirical research that examines the real-world dynamics of classrooms, schools, and educational systems across diverse contexts. The journal particularly encourages studies that offer practice-oriented insights, identify challenges or areas for improvement, and promote informed dialogue on educational practice and policy.
While meta-analyses and invited book reviews are also considered, I-JER primarily seeks original research that reports concrete empirical evidence. Submissions presenting neutral, mixed, or unexpected findings are equally valued, as such results contribute to a more nuanced and realistic understanding of educational phenomena. Through this orientation, I-JER aims to serve educators, policymakers, and researchers by providing a grounded and comprehensive account of contemporary educational realities.
The journal upholds rigorous academic standards and encourages authors to submit original research aligned with its scope. Manuscripts that do not meet the academic criteria may be rejected. All rejected manuscripts receive constructive feedback from reviewers to help authors improve their work for future submissions.
All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Educational Realities (I-JER) must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere at the time of submission or during the review process.
I-JER is a refereed journal that adopts a double-blind peer review system. Each manuscript submitted to either a regular or special issue is reviewed by at least two independent international reviewers with expertise relevant to the submission topic. Reviewers are not affiliated with the same institution as the author(s). They are selected based on the manuscript’s subject area and their established scholarly contributions.
- Initial screening by the editorial board: Typically completed within 1 ~ 2 weeks.
- Double-blind peer review: Typically takes approximately 1 ~ 2 months.
Authors are kindly asked to note that editors and reviewers invest substantial time and effort in the evaluation process. Accordingly, manuscripts may not be withdrawn during review, revision, production after acceptance, or publication without prior approval from the editorial office.
Final accepted manuscripts must meet acceptable standards of academic English and conform to APA 7th edition guidelines. Manuscripts that fail to meet language or formatting requirements at any stage of the review or publication process may be rejected.
I-JER is published online on an annual basis. Articles are finalized and compiled into a single yearly volume to ensure high-quality academic curation and distribution.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that free and unrestricted access to research fosters a wider global exchange of knowledge.
