International Journal of Educational Realities

Promoting Excellence in Educational Research and Practice

Journal Description

International Journal of Educational Realities (I-JER) is a peer-reviewed scholarly online journal dedicated to advancing rigorous understanding of educational practices as they occur in real-world settings. Unlike journals that prioritize exclusively positive or idealized outcomes, the I-JER values research that captures the complexities, challenges, and authentic experiences within educational contexts. Our mission is to provide a platform for studies that illuminate the nuanced realities of teaching, learning, and educational policy, presenting evidence that reflects both successes and difficulties in a balanced and thoughtful manner.

The I-JER welcomes empirical research that investigates the real-world dynamics of classrooms, schools, and educational systems. We encourage submissions that reveal practical insights, highlight areas for improvement, and foster informed dialogue on educational practice. While meta-analyses and invited book reviews are considered, the journal primarily seeks original studies reporting concrete evidence, including findings that may be neutral, mixed, or even challenging to conventional expectations. By doing so, the I-JER aims to provide educators, policymakers, and researchers with a realistic and comprehensive understanding of contemporary educational realities.

Submission and Review Policy

Submissions to the I-JER are accepted on a rolling basis and undergo continuous peer review. Manuscripts can be submitted at any time, and the review process proceeds without waiting for a specific issue or deadline. This ensures timely consideration and publication of research that reflects current educational realities.

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere at the time of submission. Manuscripts cannot be withdrawn without the approval of the editorial office during the review, revision, production, or post-publication stages.

Peer Review Process: Submissions undergo an initial review by the editorial team, typically completed within 1 ~ 2 weeks. Manuscripts passing this preliminary evaluation proceed to a double-blind peer review process, which generally takes approximately 1 ~ 2 months. Each submission is evaluated by at least two international reviewers with relevant subject-matter expertise.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts meet high standards of language quality and conform to APA 7th edition style guidelines. Papers failing to meet these standards at any stage of review or production may be rejected.
